Christmas Tidings
‘Christmas Tidings’ has now been released on the Convivium Records label. Although many of the Christmas Texts are familiar, all the music is new with many contrasts of style and tempo.
As ever with Brian there is much emphasis on strong melodic content. The Celestia Singers are conducted by their founding conductor David Ogden, who is much admired and acclaimed in the UK choral world and a leading member of the Royal Schools of Church Music.
It was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. There are sixteen tracks accompanied by brass quintet and piano. If you are looking for something fresh and new at Christmas this music celebration is the album for you.

“Brian Knowles has a wonderful gift of melody. All his pieces are full of character showcasing his gift for marrying text and music to create songs that are a joy to sing and a delight to listen to. This album contains pieces in a variety of different styles and moods, attractive and deeply moving new carols full of invention and insight and others that bring a welcome freshness and life to traditional texts. No doubt, it will enrich and invigorate your Christmas for years to come.”
