Music Is LIfe
Brian Knowles, born in 1946, is a composer of both ‘popular’ music and ‘classical’ music. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music from 1964 to 1967 under John Gardner. He formed the band Saffron in 1970 which was signed to EMI and recorded at Abbey Road studios. Later he become touring musical director for Roger Whittaker. His classical output includes his Poetry Serenade, a setting of 55 poems. He has also written the music for two musicals, ‘Jane Eyre’ and ‘The Government Inspector’.
